There still might be a chill in the air, but Spring has arrived early in Yea with 'Prelude to Spring' an exhibition of exuberant rose portraits by Bonbeach artist, Michelle Endersby, being exhibited at Yea's Gallery 34 this August.
Last year, Michelle's distinctive rose paintings on her signature round canvases were exhibited in New York City and have met with approval from rose lovers across the globe.
Michelle's paintings of roses at different stages in their lifecycle are inspired by a vision of a light-filled rose garden the artist experienced on awakening from a coma following emergency brain surgery. Given a second chance at life, Michelle explains "I feel as if I have been entrusted with a mission to share a message of beauty, hope and inspiration with the world through my rose paintings" and that is exactly what she is doing.
Michelle and her husband holidayed in Yea for 3 weeks over Summer, and were captivated by the town and its historic and natural features not least of all its roses and its art. Michelle enthuses "Stepping into Gallery 34 I was immediately taken by the ambience, lighting and the character of the gallery, and was delighted when David invited me to exhibit my works in this ideal space for viewing art". As well as over 20 paintings in the collection, Michelle will be launching her limited edition round art cushions with a different design front and back as an exclusive at this exhibition.
The exhibition runs from August 5th to August 29th. Opening hours Friday to Sunday 10am to 4pm and Monday 11am to 3pm.
